The U.S. patent for the internal hinge for the Classic Intro Flat Panel system was awarded to Lowell Nickens in 1993 by the United States Patent office. He was the inventor of the internal hinge and a host of other unique product offerings for the Intro flat panel system.

• The extrusion that runs along the vertical plane of each panel is shaped in the form of a sprocket which gives the Intro the ability to be and stay in perfect alignment both horizontally and vertically  while providing each panel a 180 degree turn.
• A half inch extruded square tube with a full length slit in the top center of the extrusion, provides the means to tuck the fabric into both the top and bottom of the panel with a perfect  looking fit. 
• The stacking peg system gives the Intro panels an ease of set up without fear of damaging the pegs located on the bottom of the top section of panels. 
• Because each panel has extruded aluminum metal on all 4 sides of each panel, it provides connection points for a lineup of great accessories. Perhaps the best accessory connection is for counter tops of all shapes and sizes which anchor to the back wall itself with the aid of a simple thumb screw.
